Activities Monthly Meetings Our General Meetings are held the first Monday morning of each month, unless it falls on a holiday. Although we use meeting facilities at a church, we are not church affiliated. Click here to request directions. Guests are always welcome at the general meetings to give them the opportunity to meet MOMS Club® members, ask questions, and understand what we're all about. The MOMS Club of Round Rock-East, Texas has initiated a Buddy Program for new members and visitors. Visitors attending a General Meeting for the first or second time are introduced to a "Buddy" (an outgoing MOMS Club volunteer). The "Buddy" will sit with the visitor during the meeting and be able to answer any questions that arise. The "Buddy" will also introduce the visitor to other club members with the purpose of making the visitor feel as comfortable as possible. Children of any age (including nursing babies) are always welcome. However, you may also reserve a spot in the nursery for those times you would like to give the guest speaker your undivided attention. Playgroups All members are encouraged to join a playgroup. They are organized according to the age of the children - usually within a 12-month age span. Older and younger siblings are always welcome. Playgroups meet weekly at a designated time and place. Our playgroups provide friendship, fun and socialization for children as well as moms. Members of each playgroup select their meeting place and activities based on the personality and ages of the children in the group as well as the needs and desires of the moms. Most playgroups meet at parks, restaurants, and member’s homes. Each playgroup has a designated coordinator to keep the group organized. The Club also has a Playgroup Coordinator to help keep the playgroups running smoothly, to help new members find the right playgroup, and to form new playgroups. Mom’s Night Out Once a month we enjoy a night out with the other moms. Most of us prefer to leave our children at home with dad or with a babysitter for this monthly event. Recent activities have included game night, happy hour and dinner at local restaurants, and movie night! Sunshine Committee When our members are in need of a helping hand, it's the Sunshine Committee to the rescue! The Sunshine Committee helps provide support, meals, errand running and/or hand holding to any members dealing with illness, death, unemployment or in need special support. We offer meals, transportation, babysitting and whatever else is needed to assist a mom in need. Calendar of Events Our calendar is always filled with a variety of activities for the whole club to enjoy. We take trips to local parks, story time at the library, a swim at the pool, a trip to the zoo or a museum, fields trips to special places, and a whole lot more. Take a look at our Sample Calendar for an idea of what we do each month. |
